ABOUT US
Our Home as a Tribute to the Environment
Our vision for a harmonious world and deep respect for the environment are beautifully embodied in the construction of our house. From the very beginning, we aimed to create a home that would leave a minimal impact on the land, which led us to embrace Bio Construction — a sustainable building approach that honors the earth and all living beings.
Casa Agave is built using a light timber frame structure, which combines eco-friendliness, sustainability, efficiency, comfort, and last but not least, a quick construction process. We chose red Scots pine wood from certified sustainable national forests (PEFC). This exceptional wood not only meets structural needs but also excels in permeability and durability.
Superior Exterior Thermal Insulation System (EIFS)
Eco-Friendly Innovation: The Breathable Home
The 140 mm thick wooden frame is braced by OSB boards holding the enclosed wood fiber insulation at 38 kg/m³. Together with a 50 mm oak cork EIFS (Exterior Thermal Insulation System), this setup achieves outstanding thermal performance (0.16 W/m²·K), energy efficiency, and breathability.
The natural cork layer ensures top-notch insulation, air permeability, and acoustic performance, while being entirely additive-free and eco-friendly. For the final touch, we applied natural lime mortar, which acts like skin—waterproof yet breathable—keeping damp and condensation at bay. This combination provides superior indoor comfort, energy efficiency, and a sustainable, natural aesthetic.
